Rooster, Awake my Soul was inspired by a photo a friend shared with me. Her chickens and rooster were so full of life and movement, they just connected with me. His eyes were so intense, it made me wonder what he was moving toward. This painting was featured in the office of the Nature & Nurture exhibition during the Parade of Homes 2019 in Willmington.
